What do the Results tell us?
If you are smart and want to maximize your chances of attracting the right person you need to pay attention to what others will want to see about you.
Photos are an important standard in the online dating scene. In the old days, you were lucky to see someone's picture, but now with the advancement of digital photograpy you really need to have one to get responses. The focus now appears to be ensuring you put up a good picture which captures your personality.
Your profile description is more important to women than a man's photo which is not news, since women want to know more about the person, while men...well, they go for the physical attraction first.
Videos are a brand new feature and as you can see, not too many members know about it, or find it important...yet. Lavalife enables members to use their webcams to interract with one another. Kids have taken to it since they can interact with their friends from their bedrooms, without breaking curfew.
As an aside, if you consider the number of people who actually responded to the survey, you can get the sense of how active Lavalife is. Not just a lot of members, but they interract quite a bit. A great Canadian success story.
